I know you can’t see this but I am currently wearing a robin’s egg blue sweater. It’s an old cardigan that I bought second hand back in the nineties and it used to have deeply robin’s egg blue buttons until my dog Dinky pulled it off of its hanger when he was a puppy. We had left him alone and when I came home I found he had made himself a little nest out of this sweater, and had chewed off all the buttons. I leave it button-less in honor of Dinky, my first dog outside of my childhood pets. And I call this sweater the “mama sweater” because Dinky identified it with me.
I have named this blog after Robin’s Egg Blue in honor of this sweater and in a larger sense, in honor of the life I have made for myself. I’m a little bit afraid of blogging, and I am not sure if anyone but me will find it interesting, but I am going to try it out. I hope you like it, but if you don’t, there are plenty of other blogs out there, and I encourage you to keep shopping for one that appeals to you.
